GOALS
Goals for a Second Term
Securing More Jobs for Our Skilled Labor
This is a defining moment for Local 716. A wave of work is coming into our jurisdiction, work that is tailor-made for us. The next generation of infrastructure projects that will keep America strong, safe, and moving forward must be UNION-BUILT.
This is more than an opportunity — it’s a Call to Action. We cannot afford to let this moment pass us by. Capturing it will require:
-
A massive organizing effort
-
A bold expansion of our apprenticeship programs
-
Unbreakable solidarity across the Building Trades and the labor movement
The future is knocking, and it is union hands that must build it. Let’s rise to the challenge, together.

Strengthening Member Engagement and Communication
This is a major focus for our second term. When we introduced the Apprenticeship Tuition Reimbursement Program, attendance at our general meetings doubled. Participation in volunteer projects has also grown, and in many cases, tripled.
To build on that momentum, we will:
-
Establish new member-led committees, including but not limited to:
-
Labor Day Cook-Off
-
Local 716 Picnic
-
Kids’ Christmas Party
-
Adults’ Christmas Party
-
Spring Family BBQ Party
-
Halloween Trunk-or-Treat
-
PlayStation and Nintendo Switch Tournaments
-
-
Improve communication across all platforms to keep members informed, involved, and inspired.

Giving Every Member a Voice in Negotiations
We will create a Negotiation Subcommittee that includes representatives from every classification. Everyone deserves to be heard, and no one should be left behind.
We must begin preparing now for the 2027 negotiations. With a national labor shortage and record investments in our industry, we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to secure the contracts we deserve.
This is our moment, and we are committed to bargaining aggressively to achieve the best possible outcomes for our members.
